Technical information
At Alpe Lusia, in the heart of the Moena ski area, the Piavac slope challenges even the most experienced skiers. Its initial wall is renowned as one of the steepest in the Dolomites. This 1.3 km-long black slope starts at Le Cune, at an altitude of 2,196 m - which can be reached by chairlift or gondola - and runs down into the valley between thrilling diagonals and gullies, facing north and therefore often icy. From the halfway point, the tension subsides and the easy sprint to the chairlift starting point begins. While the descent demands technical focus, the breathtaking view of the Catinaccio is a stunning distraction.
