Ski area San Pellegrino Pass - Falcade
Slope and lift details
San Pellegrino Pass, located right on the border between Trentino and Veneto, can be reach by car or ski bus from Moena by following the trunk road that, after "Ronchi" (departure point of Alpe Lusia cabin lift), winds upwards for 7 km up to the alpine pass at an altitude of 1919 m.
It's a ski area characterised by wide, sunny slopes where everything is within easy reach: hotels right on the slopes, sport and souvenir shops, rentals, ski schools, ski pass offices, mountain huts, refuges, traditional restaurants with panoramic terraces, playground on the snow with school camps and baby club services, après ski, a cross country centre and a superb snowpark.
The trails on the pass draw the slopes of the Costabella and Cima Uomo peaks. On the opposite side, the cable car takes you up to Col Margherita, where the CNR meteorological station is also located. Here the air is as clean as the North Pole and the panorama offered by the Dolomites is sensational. After a stop at the new InAlto refuge, you can either tackle the two slopes back to the starting point, including the black "La VolatA" (the northern exposure guarantees perfect snow throughout the season), or gently ski down to Falcade.
The ski area can boast a ARTVA training camp, along the slope "Col Margherita - Lago Cavia", the only one in Val di Fassa. It is a fenced and equipped area for avalanche rescue simulation. The access is free, online reservation required.
The pass is a popular destination among non-skiers as well. In the Fuciade hollow, days pass by with snowshoes excursions and horse sledging.
