The town, with its two squares lined with picturesque buildings, shops, bars and restaurants, is one of the most popular tourist centres in the Valley.
In winter, in Moena, you can ski on the slopes of the Alpe Lusia–San Pellegrino ski area, which is part of Dolomiti Superski. In summer, you can enjoy walks in the countryside, hiking in the mountains, cycling or MTB. The local cheese, "Puzzone di Moena PDO", is well worth tasting all year round.
Moena
Step into a fairytale
Moena (1200 m) is the largest town in the Fassa Valley and includes the hamlets of Forno, Medil, Peniola, Sorte and Someda. The village is known as "the Fairy of the Dolomites" because of the beautiful pink light that tinges the mountain tops at sunrise and sunset, creating spectacular views.
Since 2011, Moena has been one of the Alpine Pearls, a title awarded to mountain resorts able to offer ecological and environmentally friendly holidays.
An evocative location framed by woods, trails and green countryside, in summer, you'll be entranced by the spectacular views of the spires of the Latemar (2790 m) and the San Pellegrino Pass. In winter, the town is the heart of the Alpe Luisa - San Pellegrino ski area, whose snowy expanses are a fabulous destination at any time of year. It has a network of ski lifts and ski slopes with various levels of difficulty, suitable for anyone who wants to try skiing.
Moena has accommodation to suit every requirement, with some hotels designed for families in search of a peaceful holiday, others suited for the more adventurous thrillseekers and also apartments for the more independent holidaymaker.
The local amenities also offer great versatility. Moena gives families a wide selection of accessible routes (all with breathtaking views), plus entertainment and amusements for the little ones.
For all visitors, Moena is a picturesque destination where you can spend relaxing evenings exploring the town, admiring the illuminated windows or stopping at one of the many eateries serving the excellent local specialities, above all the Puzzone di Moena, the famous PDO cheese which is made here.
