It’s one of Dolomites’ most beautiful upper valleys, reachable from Pozza only on foot or by shuttle bus.
The valley is a super-popular destination for hikers and is easy to reach also for families with children, which in the summer months can count on a handy shuttle service, from Pozza to the end of the line "Saùch", with departures every 30 minutes. Dogs allowed, for a fee, with mandatory leash and muzzle.
Once off the minibus, you enter a fairytale! Luxuriant meadows sprinkled with delicate flowers, beautiful ancient cabins, built with trunks that, with time, have acquired a warm brown colour, and "Col Ombert", which frames this wonderful amphitheatre. Your excursion can already end at Baita Ciampiè hut, at Baita alle Cascate hut, or you can continue and reach Val Contrin, Cirelle Pass and eventually Fuciade, Ciampac’s basin or Buffaure’s plateau. If you prefer to return to the starting point, to change perspective and enjoy some fresh air in the woods, take the path "Strada dei Russi", which leads to the resort "Saùch".
How to get there
Parking in "Vidor" (from Pozza along Strada de Meida and Strada de Ruf de Ruacia, about 2 km).
