It’s a side valley of the renowned Val San Nicolò, but not less charming and can only be reached from Pozza on foot or by shuttle bus.
The paths crossing the wild Val Monzoni make it less "touristy", since they’re more challenging. But don’t be discouraged by the climb, the effort will be absolutely paid off! To make your route easier, which is closed to vehicular traffic, during the summer there’s a shuttle service from Pozza to Malga Monzoni with trips every 30 minutes.
Once left "Cappella del Crocifisso" behind, or as local people call it, "Ciapela de la Mont de Pozza", take the road that, with gradients at times quite steep, goes up through the woods. Then pastures as far as the eye can see, some isolated cabin and only one mountain cottage. Breathe in the fine air, enjoy the silence, envy the freedom of cows, donkeys and horses, which blissfully graze here, and embrace the energy of nature! If you want, your hike can end here with a stop at the farmhouse, letting yourself be pampered by typical dishes. Malga Monzoni is a necessary step to reach Vallaccia hut, Cima Undici and Cima Dodici, Lagusel pond, or Taramelli hut and Selle Pass on San Pellegrino side.
Dogs allowed (1 per shuttle), for a fee and with mandatory leash and muzzle.
