The Rifugio Passo San Nicolò, guarded by the pointed Col Ombert, stands isolated at an altitude of 2340 m on a panoramic balcony of rare beauty.
Its privileged position overlooks Val San Nicolò and offers an exceptional view over Marmolada, Catinaccio, Sella, Pordoi and the Monzoni group. The private structure, in stone and dark wood, surrounded by green pastures, is open from 20 June to the end of September and can only be reached on foot. The access routes are from Val San Nicolò, Val Contrin, Buffaure (Pozza) or Ciampac (Alba di Canazei). Here you can enjoy the simple mountain life: family welcome, Spartan atmosphere and genuine typical cuisine. If you want to spend the night at altitude, the hut has 24 beds in a dormitory. Imagine waking up at dawn and contemplating nature in silence, while marmots, roe bucks and mouflons peek out.
