Completely renovated and open from June to October, the Antermoia can only be reached on foot, starting from Gardeccia, Val Duron or Val di Dona.
Built in 1911 by the Fassana section of the Deutsch-Österreichischer Alpenverein, in 1921 the Rifugio Antermoia was assigned to the sat (Società Alpinisti Tridentini) and in 1962 it was registered with the CAI. Over the years, the management was entrusted to several local families. From 1990 to 2016, Almo Giambisi was in charge of the Alpine garrison, located in one of the most magical places in the Dolomites, next to the heart-shaped pond, whose origin is shrouded in mystery. It is said, in fact, that the birth of the body of water is linked to the sad love story between a beautiful "vivana" (nymph) and the singing poet Oswald von Wolkenstein. Since 2017 Martin Riz di Campitello, alpine guide, coordinator of the Fiemme and Fassa alpine rescue and former ski mountaineering champion, has been the custodian of Catinaccio. For him, the mountain hut is now a place for young people to get to know and appreciate the mountains. To experience the spirit of the true mountain man, spend the night and wake up at dawn to admire the Enrosadira. In addition to the view, the welcome and the cuisine are worth the climb!
