Inside the war: relics, trenches and stories from the front in the "Stala de la Nenola".
In the small and evocative former stable of Mrs. Nenola di Someda, the historical association "On the front of memories" offers an immersive and unique exhibition: photographs, weapons, ammunition, uniforms and everyday objects recovered during the restoration works of the Costabella, Monzoni and Cima Bocche front areas. Among the relics, the reconstructions of a trench, a machine gun nest and a military dormitory stand out, which transport visitors directly into the atmosphere of the combat lines.
A few steps away, Fort Someda, built in 1898 by the Austro-Hungarian Military Engineer, can be visited externally; converted into a military warehouse in 1915, it adds an authentic touch to the itinerary.
On the occasion of the Centenary, part of the collection was transferred to the Navalge theatre, enriching the exhibition "1914-1918 La Gran Vera. The Great War: Galicia - Dolomites" with the support of the Ladin Cultural Institute. Also not to be missed is the exhibition "Guerra alla guerra" (2005), a collection of photographs on the horrors of the conflict that continues to inspire reflection and memory among hikers on the via ferrata Bepi Zac.
The historic paths of Costabella, Col Margherita and Mud are full of entrenched fields visible to those who walk along the road to the Passo di San Pellegrino, preserving forever traces of a past that invites not to be forgotten.
