Soraga, with about 700 inhabitants and an area of 20 km², is one of the oldest towns in Fassa. Its jurisdiction includes 7 hamlets, the so-called farmhouses, in addition to the pearl of Fuciade, at San Pellegrino Pass.
Along the "Rif del Termen" river, which crosses the territory of Soraga, was once located the border between the Bishopric of Brixen and that of Trento, to which only Moena belonged among the towns of the valley. The boundaries, marked by sandstone chips dating back to 1551, served to regulate activities fundamental to the local economy, such as timber harvesting and animal grazing. In the square "Piaza Cioch" there is a historic building on which the episcopal coat of arms of Brixen, depicting the lamb, is still visible, together with the date 1785, which indicates the ancient seat of the episcopal officials. Today, the administrative functions of the Municipality are carried out in the town hall, on the opposite side of the square.
