The Municipality of Sèn Jan/San Giovanni di Fassa, with about 3600 inhabitants and an area of almost 100 km², was established in 2018 by the merger of the communities of Vigo and Pozza. Its jurisdiction extends from the Costalunga Pass to the town of Muncion, above Pera, including the lateral valleys of Monzoni, San Nicolò and Gardeccia.
For centuries, Vigo has represented the religious and political capital of the valley, while Pozza is known as a spa resort, thanks to the presence of two establishments: the QC Terme Dolomiti and the Terme Dolomia, which exploit the properties of the only sulphur source in Trentino. Today, the centre of Pozza and the political life of the Municipality is Meida. After the bridge, on the right, is the town hall, built in typical mountain style.
