Mazzin, with about 600 inhabitants and an area of 24 km², is the smallest municipality in Fassa. Its jurisdiction includes the hamlets of Campestrin and Fontanazzo, as well as the wild side valleys of Dona and Udai.
The town hall, located in the hamlet of Fontanazzo below, is decorated with the fresco of the patron saint Santa Giuliana and with four bas-reliefs depicting people engaged in the typical activities of the past: hunting, caring for the forest, wool spinning, agriculture and pastoralism. Next to the building and the church of the Madonna del Carmine, there is the bronze monument of "l 'Pèster de Fascia", created in 1983 by the sculptor Rinaldo Cigolla, a symbol of the valley.
