In the beautiful Val Duron, a renowned refreshment point is undoubtedly the mountain hut Lino Brach.
It is reached, in every season of the year, in just over an hour from Campitello: on foot or with mountain bikes in summer, snowshoes, ski mountaineering, fat bikes and snowmobiles in winter. After crossing the threshold of the cabin, which was rebuilt a couple of years ago and is located in one of the most scenic places in Val Duron, you are immediately greeted by the smile and kindness of Marina and the smell of good food. Once at the table (in summer there are also several seats outdoors), it is recommended to taste polenta, prepared according to the recipe of Giorgio Dantone (the historic owner, who died prematurely in 2020) in a copper pot on the wood stove, according to Ladin tradition, and accompanied by melted cheese, gulash, mushrooms and especially rabbit, a real specialty of the house. In addition to these typical dishes, the menu offers platters of local cured meats and cheeses and lots of seasonal dishes. Characteristic of the Baita Lino Brach, in fact, is the annual opening (it closes only for short periods in spring and autumn).
