At 2000 m, the Baita Checco hut is able to surprise both for the natural amphitheatre of Ciampedìe where it is located, and for its gourmet cuisine that draws on history and local knowledge.
Chef Matthias Trottner, one of the most talented chefs in the valley, is the creator of the restaurant's delicacies. From an early age, he began to enjoy cooking, transforming his passion into a profession. The ingredients of its recipes, often at zero kilometers and mostly from Trentino, are interpreted with care to give the palate a symphony of flavors at every bite. His recipes are a reinterpretation of the dishes of his grandmother, his first teacher in the kitchen, but also elaborations resulting from study and daily practice in the refinement of the taste that derives from the properties of food. The restaurant, in addition to refined dishes, naturally offers typical foods such as canederli, polenta, meats and mushrooms, offers recipes for celiacs, salads, finger food and a menu dedicated to children. Lunch reservations are welcome (open in the evening only in summer for dinners upon reservation).
