Very few resorts in the world can boast such extraordinary and bold cliffs as Val di Fassa. Here, in the meantime, people have fun defying gravity, physical abilities and concentration not only on natural walls, but also on artificial climbing walls.
In Campitello, near the valley station of "Col Rodella" cable car in the resort of "Ischia", there’s a modern climbing centre, ADEL, certified to host international competitions. It’s managed by the association Val di Fassa Climbing and counts on the cooperation of mountain professionals of the likes of Mario Prinoth, expert climber and tracer. The name is an acronym for the initials of Alessandro, Diego, Erwin and Luca, four mountain rescue technicians from Val di Fassa that tragically died during an intervention in Val Lasties in 2009.
Open all year round, the almost 800 sqm covered structure is composed of: some eighty routes for the lead discipline on walls over 15 metres high with different inclinations; a central gable with roofs and slopes; 200 sqm of indoor bouldering area periodically remodelled; indoor walls for rope climbing; outdoor night lighting. There’s no need to be professional climbers, take up cleats and magnesite bag and meet the vertical challenge! The guides will help you gradually approach this discipline. With the recent expansion, the gym was equipped with two ProGrades, truly revolutionary tools that allow climbing without a partner. A unique novelty in the entire Trentino region. Once become familiar with the use of rope and carabiners, you can try vie ferrate, climbs on natural rock and equipped paths, participating in weekly excursions, during the winter, too.
