A classic hike starting from the Gardeccia basin and leading to one of the most enchanting lakes in the Dolomites. The heart-shaped, crystal-clear alpine mirror is hidden among the isolated rocks of the Catinaccio and, according to legend, was formed by a nymph. The hike can be shortened by starting directly from Campitello (car park in the "Ischia" area) and going in the opposite direction as far as Lake Antermoia. Outward length 9.5 km; time 4.40 hours; difference in altitude 1129 m. Only the route from Gardeccia to Vajolet Refuge is suitable for families with children and it's walkable with toddler-carrier/backpack too.
