Due to its characteristic "panettone" shape, Col Rodella is a mountainous relief visible from every village in the Fassa Valley.
Once you get off the cable car, which separates it from Campitello by about 1,000 metres, the view leaves you speechless. In front of you, the Sassolungo, a concentrate of perfectly vertical spires that suddenly emerge from the grasslands below and, at the left end, in the direction of the Alpe di Siusi, the mountain group closes with the triangular pyramid of the Sassopiatto. The panorama here offers priceless photographs of the Sella Towers, the Sass Pordoi with the Piz Boè, the Gran Vernel and the Marmolada. In summer, it is a destination for hikers who wish to circumnavigate the massif on foot, heading towards Passo Sella or, in the opposite direction, towards Rifugio Sasso Piatto. But, in addition to trekking, there are many sports you can try here, such as free-climbing, biking and free flight. In winter, Col Rodella is synonymous with skiing, thanks to its connections with the Sellaronda skitour and the Belvedere-Canazei ski area.
