For two days, the Dolomites form the backdrop for the best climbers, protagonists of the inaugural stage of the continental circuit on the wall of the ADEL climbing gym in Campitello
Val di Fassa is set to write a new chapter in its vertical history, welcoming Europe’s top climbers. On 21 and 22 June 2025, Campitello will host the first stage of the Senior Lead European Cup. At the ADEL Climbing Wall, 100 athletes will compete in the Lead discipline, tackling brand-new routes on a 15-metre wall. Crux moves, quickdraws, top holds, and ticking clocks will define the competition. The goal? To reach the highest point within 6 minutes. Scores will be based on the number of holds secured and the fluidity of the ascent. After collectively studying the route, climbers will take on the challenge one at a time, with no prior attempts. To maintain an element of unpredictability, routes will be reset after each round.
The event, organised by ASD Val di Fassa Climbing, will take place over two days:
- Saturday 21 June - Men’s and women’s qualification rounds
- Sunday 22 June - Semi-finals and finals, followed by the prize-giving ceremony
The Saturday evening will feature live music, public activities, and climbing sessions for children, making the event even more engaging. Thanks to official live streaming, fans worldwide can follow the competition in real time.
In the last edition of the European Lead Cup, the top climbers were: Giovanni Placci (Italy), Yannick Flohé (Germany), Sascha Lehmann (Switzerland); Jessica Pilz (Austria), Janja Garnbret (Slovenia), Laura Rogora (Italy). Will they retain their titles, or will new talents rise to the challenge?
