gruppo folk "Aizenponeri" Predazzo

Performance of the folk group "Aizenponeri"

The young dancers from Val di Fiemme, proud to dust off local dances and traditions, perform typical choreographies accompanied by the cheerful notes of the accordion

Despite its young age, the group boasts numerous participations in folk festivals both in Italy and abroad, such as those in Brasov (Romania), Gyor and Sarvar (Hungary), as well as festivals organised by the municipality of Hallbergmoos (Germany, Bavaria) twinned with Predazzo. In 1999, the "Aizenponeri" organised the 13th provincial gathering of Trentino folk groups and several editions of Eurofolk Ballets.

The name "Aizenponeri" recalls a page in history and the difficult economic times that forced entire generations from Fiemme to take the road of emigration to seek work in the great railway works of Mitteleuropa. The folk group, made up of six couples, aged between 15 and 25, and a musician on accordion, will perform folk dances including "Il ballo del feudo" (the feudal dance), "La rosa dei venti" (the wind rose), "Il ballo delle lavandaie" (the washerwomen's dance), and "L'Holzòcher" (or wood splitter).

At 9.15 p.m. in the multi-purpose hall of the "La Gran Ciasa" community building in Soraga. Admission free.

Event location: "La Gran Ciasa" community building, Soraga di Fassa
