Cabiria Quintet's tribute to Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota, two giants of film music, whose masterpieces have received the most prestigious international awards, helping to make Italian cinema immortal in the world
In the first part of the concert, let yourself be carried away by the unforgettable soundtracks of Ennio Morricone, a legendary composer who has collaborated with directors of the calibre of Sergio Leone, Giuseppe Tornatore and Roland Joffé. The melodies of masterpieces such as "Giù la testa", "Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo", "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso" and "The Mission", which have enchanted generations of spectators, will resound in the air.
The second part of the evening will be a tribute to Nino Rota, the maestro who gave voice to Federico Fellini's films with unforgettable compositions for films such as "Amarcord", "Otto e Mezzo", "Le notti di Cabiria", "La Strada" and "La Dolce Vita". Every note will evoke the magic and nostalgia of Fellini's great masterpieces.
Performing will be the Cabiria Quintet formed by top musicians including Stefano Nanni. It was the pianist, composer and arranger who revisited the music of Rota and Morricone, masterfully adapting it for the ensemble. Every instrument and musician will be brought out to the full, in a journey through swing, blues, Latin, calypso, jazz and rock, which will give new nuances to these famous melodies. Not only that, film screenings will accompany the musical performances, allowing the audience to relive the most intense and unforgettable moments of each film.
