Fair of the Saints and the Dead

Traditional market that animates the centre of Moena on the religious holiday of 2 November

The fair of the Saints and the Dead in Moena is well known in Fassa, Fiemme and the neighbouring valleys. Originally, it was linked to the agricultural and pastoral economy of the mountains. In fact, it represented an important day for farmers who could meet in the square to exchange foodstuffs, buy livestock and work equipment. It was a way to prepare for the long winter that was about to begin. The large market in Moena is characterised by its festive atmosphere. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., people stroll through the streets of the centre, in the two squares, along the avenue that runs alongside the "Avisio" river and in the "Navalge" area, peeking at the many stalls displaying clothing, footwear, sports equipment, household items, textiles and embroidery, handmade objects, natural body care products, food, sweets and toys. There will also be various gastronomic stands where you can stop to eat sandwiches with sausage, frankfurters, chicken, chips and the legendary roasted chestnuts accompanied by a warm glass of must. For the occasion, the town centre restaurants, as per tradition, prepare the dish of the day: Fassana tripe in broth.

Event location: Piaz de Ramon (main square), Moena
