The choir from Moena performs its popular repertoire ranging from sacred music to ethnic music from distant cultures
"Canticum Novum" is a mixed a cappella choir from Moena. Founded in 1993 and directed by Maestro Ilario Defrancesco, it is made up of 32 elements coming from the Fiemme and Fassa valleys and has more than 300 concerts to its credit, with numerous national and international outings. In recent years, the ensemble has been flanking its sacred music repertoire with an ethnic programme, discovering new sounds typical of traditional songs from other cultures, European and otherwise. Great attention is paid to indigenous pieces, in particular those written by the local composer Luigi Canori, Father Frumenzio Ghetta and Stefano Dell'Antonio "Monech" and set to music by conductor Ilario Defrancesco, or unpublished contemporary pieces with texts in the Ladin language.
At 9.15 p.m. in the parish church of Pera with free admission.
