The Rifugio Monti Pallidi was built before construction of the great Dolomites road, at the foot of Piz Ciavazes and Sass Pordoi at Pian Schiavaneis (between Passo Sella and Passo Pordoi). In winter - if you’re on skis - the refuge is right on Sella Ronda ski tour, while in summer it’s in a perfect position to set out for walks and climbs in the Sella and Sassolungo groups. There are climbing facilities nearby, but if you like to take it easy you’ll appreciate the fantastic views from the window of the dining room,
