Soraga di Fassa
Relax on the lake shore
Near Lake Pezzè, a reservoir with turquoise waters, stands Soraga (1207 m), one of the oldest municipalities in the Fassa Valley. The peculiarity of this village is its location: geographically, it is separate from the boundaries of the town from the Alpe di Fuciade to the San Pellegrino Pass, the mountain pasture at the foot of the Costabella. This peaceful village is framed by the Roda di Vael (2804 m), the Cima Dodici (2446 m) and the Dirupi di Larséch (2734 m).
It is considered an artistic workshop and a meeting place for painters, sculptors and wood engravers. Soraga is home to many craft shops specialising in furniture and wooden objects embellished with decorations depicting alpine themes.
Here you can spend a peaceful, relaxing holiday exploring the beautiful winding streets and shops selling traditional wares. Children can also let off steam and explore safely in the modern playground in the village centre.
From Soraga, you can set off on many countryside walks, high-altitude trekking, or take advantage of the Dolomites cycle trail. In winter, take advantage of the free ski bus to reach the nearby Dolomiti Superski resorts. If you prefer cross-country skiing, near the village you'll find the Marcialonga trail waiting for you.
In August, at the Fuciade basin, you can take part in the annual "A pè ta mont", an event dedicated to the ancient crafts and flavours of the Fassa Valley.
