From Campitello, ascend towards Val Duron, a wonderful carpet of grass and flowers, sprinkled with cabins and streaked by the crystal-clear water of the homonymous river.
Once left the wood, nearby Micheluzzi Refuge, the valley suddenly opens up, revealing an evocative panorama. The dirt road (closed to traffic) eventually flattens and winds placidly through soft pastures. Did you know that along this valley, wedged between Sasso Piatto and the Rosengarten group, ran the Salt-and-Wine Road? Since ancient times, shepherds and tradesmen used to pass through here to reach Siusi Alp, in South Tyrol. If you want to go towards Rosengarten, shortly after Lino Brach hut, take the path that steeply goes up to "Ciaréjoles" Pass and Antermoia hut, with its heart-shaped lake. As an alternative, once reached the extremity of the valley, proceed towards Duron Pass/Alpe di Tires hut, with "Denti di Terrarossa" mountains on the horizon.
To avoid the climb, from June to October, a taxi service (minibuses) is available, going back and forth from the village (Strèda de Salin) to Micheluzzi Refuge. Possibility to transfer strollers and bikes (max 2 per ride). Dogs allowed, for a fee, with leash and muzzle.
How to get there
Parking at the "Col Rodella" cable car and then on foot to the starting point of the shuttles in street "Strèda de Salin" (about 900 m, 15 minutes).
