Taxi shuttle to Val Duron: connection from Campitello to Micheluzzi mountain hut.
From May to October, a minibus taxi shuttle runs between the village (Strèda de Salin) and the Micheluzzi Rifugio, providing easy access to Val Duron from Campitello. It's a convenient way to cover the initial stretch of the valley, which is closed to motor traffic, and to enjoy one of the most picturesque landscapes in Val di Fassa without any hassle. Once you leave the woods, just before the Micheluzzi Rifugio, the valley opens up into a wide expanse of meadows and flowers, dotted with alpine huts and crossed by the crystal-clear waters of the Duron stream. From here, the track continues on level ground through gentle pastures, with views of Sasso Piatto and the Catinaccio.
This valley was once crossed by the historic Salt and Wine Road, used by shepherds and traders travelling towards the Alpe di Siusi. Today, Val Duron is an ideal starting point for hikes to Passo Duron, the Alpe di Tires mountain hut, or - after Baita Lino Brach - along the uphill path leading to Passo de Ciaréjoles and the Antermoia mountain hut, beside its characteristic mountain lake.
Useful information: pushchairs can be transported (max. 2 per trip). Dogs are allowed for a fee and must be kept on a lead and wear a muzzle.
