Pier Paolo and his family welcome you to the Fronza Refuge, at the foot of the Coronelle, in the westernmost part of the Catinaccio.
The Alpine garrison, built in 1899, is open from June to October and can be reached on foot or by the König Laurin cable car. We are at the centre of one of the most legendary mountain groups, whose views have been the subject of numerous stories. From the large and sunny terrace, the peaks - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - are on display: Latemar, Corno Bianco and Corno Nero, Brenta-Cevedale Group, Ortles, Vetta d 'Italia, Swiss and Austrian Alps. A natural spectacle that at dawn and dusk lights up in the colours of Enrosadira. The atmosphere is familiar, cheerful and friendly. The cuisine is homemade, with an Italian and Ladin imprint. What specialities should you try? Trio of canederli, noodles with deer sauce, polenta with deer stew, mushrooms and melted cheese, the typical Kaiserschmarren (the "Emperor's omelette") and delicious cakes, all strictly homemade.
Small and medium-sized pets are allowed inside the shelter, while large dogs are also welcome on the terrace.
