Comune di Canazei

Canazei, with its approximately 2,000 inhabitants and an area of 67 km², is the last municipality of Val di Fassa, straddling the provinces of Bolzano and Belluno. The territory includes the hamlets of Gries, Alba, Penìa and the famous Dolomite passes of Pordoi, Sella and Fedaia.

The town hall, located on the central square "Piaz Guglielmo Marconi", is housed in the building of the former elementary schools and the former Dante Alighieri School of Decorative Art. Designed by senior architect Ettore Sottsass in the second half of the 1920s, the structure, including the wooden furnishings, was restored and expanded in 1998, keeping its architectural harmony intact.
The main municipal offices available to the public are:

• Val di Fassa local police (detached headquarters in Moena). For administrative sanctions, road code, detection of crimes, notifications of administrative and tax documents, lost objects (hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 to 12:00, Phone +39 0462 574450)
  
• Tax office. It deals with the management of municipal taxes on real estate, waste taxes, public land occupation fees, advertising and billboards, in addition to capital income (aqueduct, sewerage, purification)
  
• Registry office. For services relating to civil status, electoral status, conscription and protocol
  
• Commercial office. For the procedures related to the start-up and management of business activities
  
• Fractions. The office deals with the management of the silvo-pastoral assets of the ASUC of Canazei, Gries, Alba, Penìa and the Alta Val di Fass forestry consortium
  
• Accounting office. It manages the general accounts of the Municipality, the staff and the preparation of institutional documents
  
• Secretariat. Provides support to institutional bodies and coordinates the various areas of the Municipality, as well as dealing with relations with the public
  
• Technical department. Here you can request permits for public urban planning works and private construction
