The itinerary runs through the Val de Udai and Val de Dona, two picturesque, secluded and wild places located at the north-eastern foothills of the Catinaccio group. The valleys meet at the vast and pleasant "Camerloi" meadows, from where the trail continues to Lake Antermoia.

There are no mountain huts in Val de Udai.
