Rifugio Micheluzzi is the custodian of Val Duron.
The pastures as far as the eye can see embellished with rare flowers, the sunburned wooden huts, the crystal clear waters of the stream, the peaks of Catinaccio and Sasso Piatto as a crown, the "Friars" sculpted by time, in memory of a volcanic past: welcome to Val Duron! If you want to sample real mountain cuisine, you're in the right place. Abundant, simple and genuine dishes that well reflect local traditions. Indulge in barley soup or classic polenta with goulash, mushrooms and sauerkraut. Are you in a hurry? Sandwiches and salads are always available. For the dessert? Strudel with cream or "Kaiserschmarren".
Looking for something out of the ordinary? Stop for the night and get up at dawn to admire the awakening of nature. Recently the rooms - double, triple and family - have all been renovated, equipped with a private bathroom and furnished in spruce wood. You can sit in the two dining rooms, one more traditional and one finely furnished in light wood, heated by a modern wood-burning stove, and with a dreamy view towards the entire valley.
How to get there
The mountain hut can be reached in summer on foot, by mountain bike or by shuttle bus from Campitello, while in winter with snowshoes, ski mountaineering, snowmobiling or quad crawler. It is the ideal starting point for excursions to Lake Antermoia, the Duron Pass and the Alpe di Tires.
