Operative since 2018 at Pordoi Pass, this exhibition narrates the War in the Dolomites, with more than 3000 finds.
450 square metres of set-up, to give back a faithful overview of the First World War battles on Col di Lana (Falzarego Pass) and on Marmolada. This permanent exhibition is located at the valley station of Sass Pordoi cable car, on the pass of the same name, and is supervised by “Associazione Storico Culturale Col di Lana - Livinallongo – Buchenstein". It helps you better understand the extremely harsh living conditions of Italian and Austrian soldiers, thanks to the thorough recreation of encampments, trenches equipped with machine guns, and loads of vintage pictures and blow ups. The most interesting aspect is represented by hand-crafted recycled objects created by the soldiers in their spare time, using pieces of bombs, rifles, or wire fences, where they’d engrave thoughts or prayers.
