Nature Path At Alpe Lusia

Nature path at Alpe Lusia

Sentiero tematico

This easy path, especially suitable for families with children, tells stories and curiosities about the woods around Alpe Lusia, inviting guests to observe nature with different eyes, in the whole respect of the dolomitic enviroment.

Author's advice: Just after the La Rezila Refuge, along the path no. 625 towards "Colvere", begins a nice "forest bathing" staged path, along which it is possible to experience the nature through every sense. First step: "tree hugging", the Celtic practice of hugging the trees to absorb their beneficial properties, a real green cure against the daily stress. In particular, spruces helps to heal the fractures and reduce the swelling. Second step: barefoot on the grass, on the leaves, on musk, barks and stones. This kind of walking has a positive incidence on the humour and on the sleeping, but it also helps to improve the postures, the metabolism and the balance. Third step: Kneipp therapy. Plunge your feet in a stream to benefit of the curative power of fresh and pure high mountain water.

Just before reaching the municipal hut at "Colvere", you will clearly see the posts of the Austrian gunners of the First World War, placed in reinforced concrete structures. A trenched path enters the wood and, proceeding downhill, leads to the observatory: a net of tunnels dug into the rock, equipped with windows and slots to keep at gunpoint the San Pellegrino pass, starting point of the Italian front. The use of an electric torch to visit the galleries as well as suitable clothes and shoes are highly recommended. In summertime it is also possible to take part in guided excursions.
