"L'ega te cuna" in Penìa

Sentiero tematico

"L'ega te cuna", in Ladin language "The water in the crib", is a 13-stage educational trail in the forest that tells the cycle of water, the generator of all life, and its legends.

The plaques provide a lot of useful information: from explanations about water cycle to the telling of legends related to water springs, all the way to brook’s seasons and stones. There is also a stop named "The voice of the brook": a Ladin poem written by Stefano Dell’Antonio.

Stops: 1. Sister Water; 2. From Marmolada to river Adige; 3. The water cycle, an endless journey; 4. The brook’s seasons; 5. Streams shape the landscape; 6. Light stones, dark stones; 7. Animals of the brook; 8. Water in Ladin language; 9. Water according to myth and legends; 10. The voice of the brook; 11. Plants growing along banks; 12. Water’s power exploited by human beings; 13. Feet into water.

Author's advice: This path is suitable for families with children and is accessible with a baby carrier (no strollers).

Possible transport by road train from Canazei to Penìa (for a fee, service only in summer).

No refreshment points along the route.
