From Pozza, take the cable car to the Buffaure, a steep slope on Val San Nicolò, where the forest alternates with green pastures.
With your eyes, from here, you can embrace almost all the Fassa Dolomites: to the west the Latemar and the Catinaccio that stand out in all their sculptural grandeur; to the east the Valle dei Monzoni opens with a dense chain of dark-colored peaks, they are volcanic rocks, which join, in a large arch, the Vallaccia Group with the Creste di Costabella. If the landscape already conquers you from the Buffaure, wait until you reach, on foot or by chairlift, the Col de Valvacin, which overlooks, on one side, the Val San Nicolò and, on the other, the wild Val Jumela. From an altitude of 2,354 metres, the views of Colac, Vernel, Marmolada, Pordoi, Sella and Sassolungo compete. In summer, the various themed trails that animate the Buffaure Alps make it a favourite destination for children.
