A majestic church that watches over Moena, whose sharp bell tower can be seen at a great distance.
Construction, reconstruction and expansion have characterised this church, placed in an elevated position with a view over Val San Pellegrino and the Monzoni chain. Consecrated for the first time in 1164 by the bishop Adalpreto of Trento, it was then consecrated twice more, in 1216 and 1534, following adjustments and renovations that did not end there. In the seventeenth century the Carmine Chapel was added and in the nineteenth century the nave was enlarged and extended. The last enlargement that gives the church its current appearance is from 1929. The original Gothic part and apse have been preserved. Among the many masterpieces kept inside the structure, do not miss the wooden gold coated altar by Valentino Poschiavin (1715) and the important works of the Baroque painter Valentino Rovisi, a pupil of Giambattista Tiepolo. Next to the parish church is the suggestive small church of St. Volfango, from the Romanesque period, which can be visited in the months of July and August.
