Easy walk around Vigo with a hiking guide, an experience combining nature and culture to discover traditions, curiosities, history and the beauty of the area
Programme: an afternoon with a hiking guide to explore the most scenic views and panoramic spots of Vigo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Its history begins with the settlement of the Rhaetian populations on the Doss de Ciaslìr, where the sanctuary of Santa Giuliana, the patron saint of Fassa, also stands. The subsequent presence of court officials, captains, and judges made Vigo, for a long time, the political heart of the valley, while the parish church of San Giovanni was considered the mother church, the centre of ecclesiastical life for the people of Fassa. Strolling through the streets of the historic districts, you can still feel the atmosphere of the religious and rural past, with traditional buildings and "tabià" (haylofts) adorned with tools from ancient trades. During the walk, your guide will share secrets and anecdotes about the village, from the municipal coat of arms to the curious nicknames of its inhabitants.
Route difficulty: medium-easy; suitable for families (including pushchairs), friends, and even those with dogs.
Requirements: wear appropriate sports clothing for winter outdoor activities (windbreaker, waterproof hiking boots, gloves, hat, sunglasses). Bring a water bottle or hot tea and a small snack.
Price:
- free for Val di Fassa Guest Card holders. Registration is compulsory, either online or at the valley’s tourist offices, by 11 a.m. on the same day
- paid activity for NON Val di Fassa Guest Card holders with registration ONLY in the Sport Check Point offices
Meeting point: at 2.30 p.m. at the tourist office in Vigo. Return around 5 p.m.
The experience is offered in Italian, with limited spaces available. In case of bad weather, it may be postponed or cancelled.
